It’s 2017 and everyone is trying to do something different, which means that there’s a whole new range of complicated and over the top themes to navigate. There’s lounge suit, morning suit, white tie, black tie cocktail (really?), and even – heaven forbid – dress up weddings.
Our advice? Always take the high road when you’re confronted with a dress code you don’t understand and stick to classic, understated looks.
Black suits are popular because they make us look classic and refined.
A shirt that is tailored to fit your shape, tapering in at the torso and giving you a little room in the shoulders, is always going to be better than a potato sack from Target.
And remember that certain colour combinations are forever in style, like black and white, navy blue and tan, olive, white and light blue.
